FAQ
Is there a free alternative to Granola?
Yes. Typort records your meetings and, by default, turns them into a transcript on your own computer, for free. AI notes are optional: they run on Typort's servers and are free for a limited time and will move to Typort Pro later.
How long does Granola's free plan keep my notes?
The last 30 days, according to Granola's help center. By default, Typort saves every meeting in a folder on your own computer and keeps it for as long as you want.
Does Granola work offline?
Not for transcription. Granola's help center says transcription needs a live connection to its transcription providers. By default, Typort turns your call into text on your own computer, so it works offline.
Does Typort work on a Mac?
Yes. Apple silicon Macs (M1 or later) with macOS 14.4 or later. On a Mac, meetings record your microphone for now, so the transcript is your side of the call.
